Games, shooters, action, military, etc. We have all seen them, and some have even played them. My friend told me about SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs, and the weaponry. He said the most powerful gun in the game as a SEAL, is the IW-80 A2. I can not find it anywhere on the web, could it be called something else, or dose it not even exist?

Its actually patterned after the weapon in the link above. Enfield SA-80: L85A1 and L85A2 assault rifle.

It is renamed IW-80 A2 to avoid getting permission from the Enfield company for copyright violations.

I don't know much about the game but I do know there is no such thing as an m60 SAW. There's a M249 SAW and there's a M60 but they aren't the same at all. Sorry I don't mean to split hairs. Big Grin

Jone_Trigs you're probably confused by listening to too much 'Hans Zimmer'.

and all that 'blackhawkish' nomenclature...

Why would i be confused if i listened to Hans Zimmer its just music you see in all war movies. Black Hawk Down is a real event that happend in 1993, 18 soldier died to make Somalia a better place if your not respecting that i dont think you get the point of being a soldier.

Somalia was just another Beruit. Only real diff was the lower casualty rate. Don't base your opinions on hollywood movies.

No they didn't capture Aideed. He was killed later, bit not by the American forces. Nobody made that place "better". Eighteen + died there (not sure of the total number, but it was more than 18- those 18 were killed just in the "Battle of Mogadishu"- or "Blachawk Down"), then they were pulled out without finishing the job. NOT the soldiers fault, but the politicians. The place is now more of a mess than ever, just read the news coming out of there.

It's not a suprise that that place is a mess. There is really nothing I think we can do about places like that, because once you overthrow people like aideed and, say, put someone else in power, two months later, that guy is overthrown by the same faction that aideed was from, its just a different guy leading them.

M60s are used by the SEALS and were used as a "SAW" (Squad Automatic Weapon) in Vietnam.

The M249 is the present SAW used in combat today.

NO NO NO DAMN U NO! I play the socom series so much, and i'm so good at it, several rounds in the game after i join a room people are leaving and i always get MVP. The IW-80 is powerful yes, but by far is NOT. i repeat NOT the most powerful weapon as a seal. Its accurate and good all around yes, but no. The M87 is the strongest(Its an anti material sniper rifle).
And yes, the IW-82 is based on the SA-80. Personally, the IW-82 with rifle laser and front grip is rigged but i prefer the Mk48 with rifle laser and bipod(I work miracles with it) or the Mp-5. But, as i said. IW-82 is NOT the most powerful

Yes my freind it is in it, and the most feared and powerful non-explosive weapon in the game. The best sniper, perfect for all jobs. take out a humvee driver and pick off the occupants, so on... awww i could go on all day... unfortunately(I dont know why) Its a terrorist only weapon(Though they dont use it, and its used by US army, the corp, and Special forces). You have to pick it up to get it and is VERY heavy like all snipers excludign the M40A2 on it
