read a news item that says S & W has been vigourously lobbying the US Government to re-enter the military supply stakes as Beretta's contract comes up for renewal.. Already suffering from the incursion of Glock into the Police/Security market.. S&W is pushing' Made in America' as a sales pitch in these times of ' global terrorism ' etc...
so, is the S&W .45 ' better' than the Beretta now issued? and, other than cost, will it make much of a difference to anyone issued a sidearm? There I was , at the head of the old 68th... |

S&W .45 is soo much better than the Beretta 9mm on sheer stopping power alone. .45 cal goes through windshields, not bounce off them as the 9mm does. .45 cal produces larger wound cavity that several 9 mm rounds.
So yeah, give me a .45 cal anyday. SEMPER FI The Gunny PROUD TO BE AN INFIDEL America is not at war. The Marines are at war, America is at the mall. |

I believe the only draw back of any .45 is its ROF, but I could be wrong. Personally I would take the .45 because if your shooting close enough to use side arms then I want what ever I'm shooting at to go down ASAP.
