Do you boyz see any topics or rooms dedicated to gamers in here? Virtual bullets don't count in the real world boyz. (think I scared em off?) This message has been edited. Gee Sarg, don't you know that all perfect soldiers play these games before they enlist and can then skip basic and AIT?

First person shooter games suck. If you want any kind of consept of what it actually might be like, (in my non experiance of course) go play paint ball with no less than fifty guys and gals. When the paint starts flying you'll know. Of course paint balls dont rip holes in your chest and blow your legs of either. Just a thought. And HarryP I think it is an auto bump to e-5 at least,

I was in the Texas Air Guard supporting an Army Guard unit at a Fire and Maneuver Range. We were issued these 'new' devices MILES gear...which was like laser tag. I thought after Army boot fire and and maneuver training I could do this "MOVE OUT I'VE GOT YOU COVERED"
up the hill and lob a grenade into the machine gun nest. The MILES gear beeped if it was a 'near miss' to you...constant beep if 'close hit' and continous tone if 'fatal'...then you pull the key out of your weapon (disarming it) to shut the darn thing off and the umpire takes you out of the training exercise after three trys. Well...every time I got out from behind cover I was exposed to full auto and was KIA. Took that John Wayne feeling right away. I asked the umpire if we could call in an airstrike...he just laughted. Three times and I was 'out'. |

It might shock you to realize just how small one can make one's self.

I found I can fit in a gutter and use a curb for cover.

Yeah! I learned I could get underneath the buttons of my uniform while lying face down on the deck.
