Don't do that. The Marines will teach you our way of getting rounds on the target.

Reminds me of the time while I was at Edson range the first time around....I was in the prone position at the 500 yard line, (pre-qual day) and kept hitting all around the black. My range instructor was watching me with interest, as the day before I was all in the black, so he comes over, and drops ten more rounds and tells me to do it again. So I loaded up one round... aimed in, and suddenly felt great pressure on my nutz! He had his boot right on my balls, he eased up enough for me to fire off the round, and low and behold it was right in the black. He did this for all ten rounds, and all ten went into the black. My high score was a 242 on qual day.

The best advise this Combat Arms Instuctor can give you is to listen to your NCOs. They know what they are talking about. Don't drift off to la la land while they are trying to teach you. Listen to them like your life is on the line, cause it will be.

Just like thegunny says, the Marines will teach you their way of getting rounds on the target. Which in my 13 yrs of experience is the best. Trying to teach yourself will only give you bad habbits and bad habbits are hard to break. Good luck recruit!
