Personaly I would choose a M1 Garand carbine with 20rd clip in 30.06 cal (like the Italians came up with post ww2) and a HK US SOCOM MK1 Pistol with Silencer. camo

M-14, the improved M-1, though, a 12 gauge pump would be more useful.

I have a very nice winchester 12ga defender pump action shotgun. Very smooth and not that much of a kick.

The H&K G3. The are also comming out with a new 0.223 assult rifle that has a 100 round drum with it. And if you have the money the Barrett M82A1 50BMG thats a big boy with a 10 round clip, throw some DU rounds in there and you could shoot down an apache, the perfect weapon for a revolutionary war, lol. I still havent found the perfect pistol yet.

Of course the best gun for fun is the one with the cheapest ammo, because who wants to buy expensive ammo or reload there own thats a pain. 0.223 and 9mm are pretty cheap.

My favorite pistol is the Walther P99. Its a personal preference, I like its action, and its performance for my shooting style. It has some nice features, and a comfortable grip. Well balanced with stopping power if you own the .40cal.
When it comes to rifles, it depends if its tactical or personal. Personal, I like the Remington 700 for deer hunting. Tactical, it doesn't matter what weapon system you give me, its the shooter not the gun, I'll make it work for all conditions, all terrains, all environments.

hmmm a trick question if I ever heard one.....

What gun would you choose if you could own one?

I own enough guns to have to keep them in a gun safe, embedded in concrete in the garage floor.

I also don't understand the parody of having a silenced weapon. A silencer just costs money, and unless you're in Special Ops, you most likely won't need it.

I might be wrong though.

BTW, Eric, if you're a hitman, I'll pay you to kill rppearso (even though I put him on my ignore list, his posts waste bandwidth on this site.)

Any weapon system? Living in the People's Republic of Southern California, I wish to find a way to vehicle mount my truck with the M242 Bushmaster 25-mm Dual-Ammunition Fed Chain Gun for enagagement of idiot drivers on the SoCal Interstates. This does officially change my stance on which gun I would own. I would assure an accurate boresight to get B.O.T on Round Ronald with M919 APFSDS-T. 25 Mike Mike on the way.

Coachman, the only weapon I ever had while in the Army (no scope). It still makes me smile (zero windage, 13 elevation).

ONTOS

Well, if we are gonna go with quad 50's, may as well go with six 106mm recoilless rifles.
