Ok! I will keep it as short and simple as possible. I'm currently in DEP. Shipping 20071113. I went through a hell of a lot to get DEP'd in. Prior to going to MEPS I filled out the SF86 honestly. My recruiter though did not submit it to MEPS and had me fill out another one at MEPS which did not include all of the info the first did ( I know, i'm an idiot for not speaking up and saying I wouldn't withold information ). Anyway, I got waivers for what I did disclose and DEP'd in. Now it is almost time for me to ship and I feel horrible about not saying anything when I had the chance. I called my recruiter today and requested to speak with him tomorrow because I know I DEP'd in under fraudulent circumstances. I want everything out on the table and expressed that to him. So, my question is, do you all think that is the end for me? Is my career in the NAVY over before it even began?

No. Just because you withheld things does not mean your out of the Navy. Though....it does depend on what you withheld. If they were fairly serious things (felony convictions, CURRENT drug use, etc) then it could become an issue. Otherwise, it's just a matter of updating the SF86. Though this could delay your entry, hence your recruiter may get a little pissed. You'll get one more chance in basic training, actually. They're going to ask you ONE MORE TIME if there was anything you possibly left out of your SF86.

patoloco, thank you for the reply. You've put my mind somewhat at ease for right now. Unfortunatley, the issue was drug related, though I am not a drug user and never was, it is beside the point. Still got pinched for possession of a controlled dangerous substance and less than .25 grams of MJ in a motor vehicle. I did go to court and the the charge was discharged with conditions ( 1yr unsupervised probation which I completed no problem. No fine, no jail ). I have all the paperwork from the court and probation office stating the discharge. Still, if feel the NAVY is going to look at it like i'm a drug addict trying to hide my use from them. I just want to be honest with them and myself and I want the opportunity to serve and due my duty. I hope they will see and understand that, yes i've made dumb mistakes in my younger days, but as a man with a family to support, high goals and expectations for himself, and someone whom prides himself in succeeding, I've long learned my lessons and do my best to fly straight in life.
