I heard the Navy was going to get new uniforms. Does that mean no more "Crackerjacks" or "Johnny Cashs"? Those uniforms were the bomb.

They certainly aren't what I voted for when I had to take the silly survey 2 years ago. BARF!
Poopie suits and tennis shoes anyday over that crap. |

Mulder the old Krackerjack Uniform was very special and traditinal and was made the way it was for a purpose. And the most important was no one ever called me anything but a Salior. Our uniform stood out from all others.

Yeah, it's sad that the Navy is doing that. It's what set them apart from the other branches. I just don't see the real use of camouflage uniforms for the Navy (probably only for the Pilots or for the dirty jobs on the ships). But, I can see it for the Army, Air Force and Marines. hmmm, even ducks wander around on land. The Navy has tons of billets that perform all thier duties on land. Never heard of SeaBee's?

I actually bought a pair of Converse safety boots to give me an extra inch so I can see out that darn periscope. It's like a Vietnamese torture device, being half-way between tiptoed. Luckily, since they're made by Converse, they feel like tennis shoes.
But anyways, off to go do some more sub stuff. I shall return in a few weeks to contribute some more. |
