Hi my name is Chad i am 18 years old and currently am joining the navy. I go to MEPS on Tuesday and my recruiter lied on my application and put that i was Hispanic and i am not i am White. In his defense he states that it is because i look like i am Hispanic and if the navy's looking for Hispanic officers i would get looked at. Now my problem is wouldn't they know that i am not Hispanic because my birth certificate says White isn't that lying and won't i get turned down for lying on my application? Plus i cut my knee and it got infected and had to go to the hospital for anti-biotic's but was only there for 4 hours he said not to tell them. So im wondering why is my recruiter telling me to lye . Should i get all this stuff he telling me to say in writing that way i have a defence if i get turned down? and finally I just got a new car but am returning it because theres no point in having a car if im going full-time in the navy, so i would have a repo on my credit will that make a difference for me ? Im really confused i wanna join the Armed Forces but i don't know if ill get through what do you guys think

Do not lie. Tell your recruiter to fix the information. Tell the doctor about your knee, I assume you got stitches - shouldn't be a big deal and the meps doctor may want to see the medical records (more than likely not if it is all healed and never caused you problems...depends on the doc) Keep the car! Having a repo/bad credit can effect security clearances. Even if you have to go to meps more than once to get in it is worth it. Meps was the longest day of my life - 26 years later I retired as a Master Chief. Don't get stressed out and tell your recruiter to fix everything like I said. He gives you more trouble send me a PM with his name and NRS address and your real name.
