Most interesting is how the Lt ended up with the Navy Cross: Rush was nominated for the Navy Cross after efforts to obtain a Silver Star for another crewmember, the late Chief Electrician's Mate John D. Rendernick, revealed Rush's heroic actions.

thegunny -good post if you ever want to look for Heroes you could look at every Battle or Ships History in the United States we were granted many and paid so much.Actvist wonder around this Country yelling Freedom of Speech and don't have no idea what it means and their answer is to be a Patroit is to demostrate but will continue to let someone else do the fighting.(DAMM THE TORPEDOES FULL SPEED AHEAD)
