I am currently going back and forth between joining the Navy and the Marines. I have a college degree and would like to become an officer.

The problem is I have a "wet/reckless" on my record. It's a misdemeanor and I'm not sure if this would keep me from being able to be an officer in the Navy. I know it doesn't disqualify me but realistically how hard will this make it to become an officer?

Thanks for any info you guys can provide.

Best bet is to call the local district officer recruiter and ask. He has the information and the hardstops to say what things can be waivered, and what things will automatically DQ you.

I've known some pretty shady people who've still received commissions, and I've known some pristine golden boys who have been rejected.

His criminal record makes him sound like a dumb ass though. He would make an AWESOME Air Force Officer! lol jk all, im also a C/2d Lt in the USAF Auxiliary so no hating.....
