My ship date is 2007/01/08 and I have so many questions. I will be MA and Im not sure what to expect. My training is in Tx, Va and Ga. Between boot camp and training I will be away about six months.
Will I get to come home at anytime during my training? I dont think my recuiter is 100% with me. He told me they need women like me for MA. Im in DEP now and i've only been to one meeting. I was told it is manatory that I go, but at the same time told not to do anything that might jeopardize my job. So how important are the DEP meetings really? I really want to travel, is this possible if im an MA? Does anyone now what kind of training I will recieve? Do I get any special wepons training? I'd like to leave now, civilian life sucks! You work your ass of for nothing. I would like to further my education, who do I need to talk to when I finish my training? Well I will end here for now. Hopefully some of my questions will get answered.I will ask more as I think of them. This message has been edited. Last edited by: Belit, |

Good friend of mine was married to an MA. While I knew her she was stationed on Guantanamo Bay (GTMO) (guarding the....detainees) and an airstation (both as a dog handler), then aboard a amphib (amphibious ship) and cruised throughout The Med (Mediterranean). That was about six years of her career before I lost track of her (they divorced-- common in military marriages...but then, common in civilian ones nowadays too).

Oh yeah, you'll get to travel....and there's more opportunities now for women to be aboard ship. The last cruise I made I had to women MA's aboard. My buddie's wife also loved the dog handler billets. She had a lot of fun working with the dog (and we had fun playing with the dogs too).
