I am in DEP training right now. Is it possible to go from active duty to reserve when I go to swear in my second time? I want to do the reserve where it is 1 year active duty then 3 year reserve, I just don't know the name of it off the top of my head.

If you are already in DEP now, haven't you already sworn in on a signed contract?

I suppose you are right. I don't think it is the final say though. I have no clue. I'll just stick it out. After all, it is what I said I was going to do.

Just because you're in DEP doesn't mean you're in. You don't owe the military an obligation until you step off the bus in Great Lakes.

If you're in DEP and signed for a job without getting all the information or getting all the facts straight, now's your time to ask your recruiter. While people here have a lot of experience in the military, it's not their job to offer recruitment advice. YOU are responsible for getting ALL the information you need in order to prepare yourself to ship off, and if that means bugging your recruiter for information, that's what you're supposed to do.

If you're curious about this active/reserve program, ask him. He has a database full of job descriptions.
