Just had a question... I enlisted back in April under the SEAL Challenge, for which I ship on 02MAR. I've gotten some conflicting reports about how the whole 'Challenge' thing works at RTC. I've heard that Challenge recruits only get one shot to qualify in the PFT, and I've heard they get as many as four tries. I've also heard that Challenge recruits are separated into a special division, and I've heard that they are not. Anybody know for sure?

Never heard of such a practice in any boot camp, but if it exists, it'll be in the Navy boot camp. Passing the Navy PFT is about as hard as reaching behind the bar when the beer tender ain't looking for a free beer.

Actually you will be completing a SOCFA within 45 days of going to bootcamp - once at bootcamp you will complete the challenge test, they will work with you depending how well you do (if your close) Each Navy Recruiting District now has a SEAL Challenge Coordinator who your recruiter should put you in touch with.
thegunny in his previous reply seems to have no idea what he is talking about. |
