i've herd some things bout my name, sinker. and i was wondering if there is some special rank related meaning to the word "sinker"? i haven't even signed up in the navy yet, trying to loose lil more than 15 lbs to get in the required, and im graduating from school soon, so i don't know nething about ranks, military slang" as you will, or many other thngs, and i don't want to pose myself in bein sumthin im not. learned thats was a problem, and i don't want to be part of it.

well, let's see.........when it comes time for swim qual.....you had better hope your moniker doesn't hold true! (how long can you hold yer breath?)
To the best of my knowledge, the term 'sinker' holds no alternate meaning in the Navy in regards to rank. When you do get in, and finally get assigned to a ship, ask the Chief to show you a 'sea-bat'. iono, i havn't timed it, lemme check....about a minute out of water, but if i was under water i beleive i can wip out over a minute. iono. whats sea bat, or are ya going to make me wait till i ask.

I dunno, I've never heard anyone use the term 'sinker' for anything in the Navy. Maybe something about a rate that I'm not aware of (after all, alot of shipmates on my own boat don't know what a 'pitsnipe' is).
