NW New Mexico. I was the last Chief Recruiter Alb, NM ever had. We moved the headquarters to Phx in '98. Had a station in Gallop and Farmington, hwy 666. Ahh, good times.

Currently stationed in Millington, TN.

Started as an ET, now a NCCM

Undesignated airman. He isn't rated, didn't go to an "A" school.

Sammy -I was just curious why he did not call himself a Airmen Duce.So they have changed the policy to where you can go to "A " School as a E-2 I didn't know that.

Wasn't trying to be condescending Sully. Yeah, if you don't go to an "A" school, you are undesignated, and like 85 said, you can strike for a rate later. Most undesignated airman end up becoming ABF's Wink

Funny thing about Navy rating system, When i went to 'A' School in Millington for ADJ, my instructor was an ADR.

gunny -just about the same time I got out they were changeing Propulsion in most of the Ships to Gas Turbines even though I had already went to Turbine (B) school it was a lot different because the school in 1958 was for small Turbines used in propulsion on small Minesweep boats .In 1973 when I got out is when the Engineman kinda went out the window and all of these specialist started appearing in the Fleet.

I know, I just thought it a little strange that a Chief whose rate was Aviation Machinst Mate Radial engines was instructing us on turbine and turbojet engines. Big difference between pistons and turbines.
