Hi there, ex-Royal Navy sailor poking his nose in!
I'm currently doing a military history degree and am just about to start a research proposal covering damage control and fire fighting (lessons learnt) in the Royal Navy since the Falklands / Malvinas conflict of 1982. It seems to make sense to look for a comparison, and you guys (and girls) seemed the obvious example! Not after any of you secrets, but can any of you kind people point me towards good web sites covering DC + FF for the US Navy? I have already been looking at some of the obvious examples such as the USS Stark, USS Cole and USS Samuel B. Roberts. Also interested in comparing the training of the two navies, especially ashore? Any help greatly appreciated. |
