Pucillo has Captain Wynn Foster to thank for paving the way for Naval personnel losing a limb and being able to continue in service. He fought the bureaucrats in Washington and at the higher levels of the Navy. He lost a hand due to enemy action on a flight over Vietnam and went thru h*ll to stay on active duty. His story is told in his book "Captain Hook: A [Navy] Pilot's Tragedy and Triumph in the Vietnam War, by Captain Wynn F. Foster, US Navy, Retired. Well worth the read!
