My husband and I are both in the Navy. I have been in since Sept 11, 2006 and he has been in since May 3, 2007. I have always received BAH but he has never received it. He has had a lease in his name the entire time he has been in the military, so my question is should he have been receiving bah? If so, would he still receive it in A-School and should he be receiving back pay of BAH for the time that the Navy has not paid him BAH? (Just fyi, we are not stationed together and have been married prior to both of us joining).

I seem to remember back when I had a military spouse, we both received BHA. However, while one is in school residing in a barracks environment, they do not. As both of you are in different locations, I strongly recommend each of you visit your command PSD to go over your entitlements. To the best of my knowledge, unless the government made a well documented error, they will not do backpay for BHA.

Please keep in mind that pay regulations may have changed, so please do check with PSD. If you think they have processed something in error, call them out on it and have them detail why they made the decision they did and they can show the regulation they referenced. It wouldn't hurt for you to read these regulations before you start this process.
