right now im planning on going into the navy as an aecf, but i hear that it is a shi**y job. so i was thinking, what about becoming a diver?

what are the qualifications i need?

is it a good job?

what are the bonuses?

If you think striking for AECF is a sh***y job why are you going to attempt it.You better change your mind before the US Navy waste money on schools for you because you are going to be up Sh** creek once it happens.

yeah, thats why i was trying to think of another job i can dop before i get shipped off to boot.

i have just lurked a lot of forums and from what i have read, tech jobs are really shi**y.

If you don't know what you want to do yet you can sign up and strike into a rate once you are on your first sea command. I know quite a few people who did that and they were much happier with thier choice because they got a first hand look at the different rates offered and were able to make a sound decision as to what rate they wanted to strike for.

Xsorensenx- The tec-jobs are the best jobs esp. Computer rates.If you have the schooling to qualify for AECF go for it sounds like you have been listing to a bunch of wanabes go for a rate that will give you something to fall back on if you decide not to make the Military a career.I have been out for a long time but the Navy usually gets their Divers out of the Fleet.
