Hello, I am a 14 year old high schooler you guys might remeber me from before you helped me out with some other questions i had about the academy so here is my next question... I am currently a fresh man and i have played football this year, now i just got an offer to do an aviation mechanics class at the local colledge however if i take this class i cannot do football the year i take it so i might not get to ever play varsity....so which would be better for the academy all four years of football(probaly varsity) or 3 years and an AP college aviation mechanics class... i also want to go in to either fly jets or build them...

Neither option is really going to help or detract from the application process. The USNA varsity football team is predominantly recruited athletes. Some are walk-ons. Football at the academy isn't the only sport though. There's sprint football, lacrosse, rugby, and a whole slew of athletics you can try out for.

As far as academics at the Academy, it's a four-year college. You will get ALL required courses you need when you attend. The college aviation mechanics class may/may not (most likely won't) count as credit at USNA. But don't let that stop you from furthering your education.

Plus, you don't need an aviation/aerospace/astro degree to be a pilot. Plenty of English majors have gone on to fly. If you want to build them, then go for the aerospace degree, but when you graduate, you're expected to be a Line Officer (Pilot/NFO, Marine, SWO, Submariner, SpecOps). Unless you break yourself physically, you may have a restricted line billet as an Aerospace Engineering Duty Officer. I know nothing about that field though.
