i have been interested in joining military for many years. i was torn between navy and air force, but ended up applying for air force. I went to meps and got 74 on asvab and had perfect vision, hearing, and everything else was good. When it came to do the duck walk, i failed miserably. my recruiter requested a waiver and since then it has been 5 weeks and he is saying it is at the surgeon generals office. i have been practicing the duck walk and can do it fairly well now. My question is if the AF does not come through, would i still have to wait a long time for a navy waiver as well, or can i apply for a navy one right now, so i can beat the rush of all the high school kids graduating (they would take a person who does not require a waiver over one who does require one).

As you have already been through MEPS, going again under Navy paperwork will just bring those Air Force results to the front again. Makes no difference which branch of service you are going for. MEPS is MEPS and is not branch specific.
Oh yeah, in my twenty some years in the military, I have never seen anyone perform the duck walk...'deadbug' plenty of times, but not the duckwalk! SEMPER FI The Gunny PROUD TO BE AN INFIDEL America is not at war. The Marines are at war, America is at the mall. |
