From the ' archives' of the Knoxville, Tennesee County Sheriff's Office:

August 2000> David and Pamela Stonebreaker were driving through Knoxville in their RV when sherriff's deputies pulled them over for running a red light. the cops were suspicious and called for backup..a drug sniffing dog named Falco. The dog sniffed outside the vehicle and signalled a ' positive', so deputies immediately searched the inside of the RV and found more than a quarter ton of marijuana..

BUT.. in court, the Stonebreaker's attorney challenged the search claiming the dog couldn't be trusted. It turned out that between 1998 and 2000 Falco had signalled ' positive ' 225 times and the cops found drugs only 80 times. In other words, the dog was wrong nearly 70% of the time. Falco, the defence claimed, was too incompetent to justify searching vehicles based on his ' word' alone.

the Judge agreed and the Stonebreakers went free..

What is it with people from Tennesee?..

just read about a couple who got arrested for providing a stripper for their kid's 16th birthday party...Mom said they wanted to give the boy something special...

parents arrested for contributing to the deliquency of a minor - that's special...

Just goes to show that the cops HAVE to have probable cause to justify a LEGAL search of an individuals property. We are protected agaist illegal search and seizure. The cops blew thier own case right from the start.

Gotta remember the people from around there, are a little more forward thinking. Boyz running around with a woodie all the time, needs to be aimed at the correct target.....sure don't want him leaning the other direction now do they?

Since my father's family is from Tenessee, there is nothing wrong with people from there that is not wrong with people elseware.

Maybe they need the mayor of Toronto to show them the way (or ex if that is the case).
