I have to admit I don't know a lot about Romney, and will have to look into him.

Neither party have any standouts to me right now.
It'd be nice to see someone in office who knows how to balance a budget for a change and that looks out for the citizens of this country for a change. We (Indiana) have a new Governor that I think is going to turn this state around. I'd guess on the Democratic side look for ex Governor Evan Bayh to be a contender. The Republicans??? Can't think of any right now. BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR, YOU JUST MIGHT GET IT! |

Jeb was the one that Barbara and GH Bush were actually grooming for president, GW just ran because the Republicans didn't really have a solid candidate Actually ... I'm just sorry that they can't convince Sean Hannity to run! Snipes! Heaven won't have us and Hell's afraid we'll take over! |

quote: What's your beef with Jeb? Maybe I need to look a little more closely?! Sean said that he has NO intention on EVER running for office. LOL, he makes GW look like a liberal, the Dems would just drop-over in a faint if he decided to run! He DOES have really good name recognition (as the #2 Radio talk-show host). It's too bad he won't run, sigh ... Snipes! Heaven won't have us and Hell's afraid we'll take over! |

Keyes is not going to get the Black vote. Jeb will have to fight the "little brother" stigma. Hannity can't even run a good interview.
I'll go for Rice and Rudy on the Republican side. I know this might not sound good to most but Hilary can kick ass and she is moving further towards the middle with her rhetoric. Also is it just me or is Bill and George becoming running buddies? So it's Hilary and Obama vs Rice and Rudy. That would be a real heavywieght bout, IMO. |

I am all for Hillary and Barock Obama (I think I just screwed up his name).Thing is I do not know if the country is ready for both a female president and a black VP at the moment. But perhaps in another 4-8 years the country will be. I hope so as that is my choice for the Dem. ticket. Now for the republicans I would like to see a Powell/McCain ticket.

quote: RIML, LOL, you're showing your brain malfunctions again. There are several independent papers out that reflect a direct connection. In addition, there's plenty out there to show a pretty substantial connection between Al Qaeda and Saddam, basically a monetary connection. Damned straight he wasn't going to have them in Iraq, that would make it too obvious. Do a little digging around the net, Ron, you'll find it !! Now, Guiliani is a Dem in Repub clothes, same as Arnold. Yeah they run on the republican ticket, but that's about as far as it goes. Condi needs some maturity and hopefully GWB can give her that. Right now, I don't see any viable Republican ticket. The dem ticket is still up in the air, IMHO. Of course, they pick some looney leftist. I have noticed that Hillary is moving towards center, so there may be some handwriting on the wall. (aka Queen's Gambit) Obama is too new at the game and I'm sure he has a skeleton or two in his closet. Maybe in time, he might be a viable candidate. Alan Keyes is a smart man, but he sure did some dumbass things while running against Obama and before. Bayh voted against Condi. He sure talks a lot of sense, but I don't trust him too much. quote: Have you looked at Obama's stands on the issues? He trys to portray himself as a moderate, but he's almost as liberal as Hillary! No thx! ... Hillary coming towards the center? LOL! She started so far to the left that she would have fallen off the face of the map if she hadn't moved a little towards the center! Powell has said that he won't run, PERIOD! McCain is wishy-washy and not true to his party (which is fine if you aren't a republican in the first place If the Dems want to run a radical liberal like Hillary, that's fine by ME! She will get shot down by even more cross-over voters than Kerry had If the Dems really want to be competitive, they need to talk to Zell Miller, or at least read his book to find out how they are screwing up! I think the country IS ready for either a female or a black president, with Dr Rice, we'd get a "two-fer" ... Snipes! Heaven won't have us and Hell's afraid we'll take over! |

I don't buy into the "Liberal/conservative" crap in the first place. Zell is a big coup for conservo's but Hillary has more firepower than you might be willing to admit.
Also, GWB has made Iraq into his doomsday machine. If the button is pushed, meaning Iraq doesn't get resolved, there is going to be some tough sledding for his party. |

Dr. Rice is too uncompromising to ever run for a national office. Her lack of flexibility would drive her crazy within a very short period of time. She is wired entirely too tight.
Rudy is too moderate to ever get nominated by the Republican Party for the Presidency. He may be a hero to New Yorkers but that feeling fades somewhat the further you get from the Empire State. That little divorce thing might also come back to haunt him. We probably will never elect a Vietnam Veteran as president because most people do not care about military service in this country (I do not agree with the attitude but it does exist) and that war seems to cast a pallor over the best of them. We should take a serious look at our governors; there are 50 of them and at lest 48 of them (excluding California and Michigan) may have someone who can run. I tend to think that governors are better presidents. "It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it" DOUGLAS MacARTHUR, 1952 |
