Homeland security Czarina dropped in for a chat with our folks this week to discuss issues of mutual interest surrounding ' secure borders'.. this after new reports of increased patrols, drone planes, hi-tech surveillance and helicopter flybys, and, of course, the ' need' for enhanced ID/Passports [ even for returning US citizens] at crossings..
little things that will increase times at the border, require more tracking and assessing and, by consequence, add to the impeding of trade/business flow across the boundary upping time and expenses - just what is needed in a failing economy - all in the name of ' protection '.. Not sure if this is good practise of the pointy end of a wave of paranoia.. but one thing for sure.. its time for the Spin Doctors/PR boys and girls to scrap the old time slogan that they flogged around the world cause this is now moved into the realm of legend and myth there is no longer the " Longest Undefended Border " in the world.. not if gun-toting Border Guards and remote controlled camera planes with built-in infrared scanners seeing into my wallet are any indication. Better make sure you have plenty of ' authorized' and 'encoded' ID before coming up here to enjoy a few brews at my BBQ or you'll never get back home.. There I was , at the head of the old 68th... |

We actually are living in Big Brother Land except it's not following the gloomy rules set within the book 1984. Everybody is watching everybody watching everybody. I read about it on the Paranoia site just 2 GIGS down the block.
