Should Tookie be executed? If he is executed, will there be riots?

i dunno, let me look out the window......nope no riots happening here on base.

I never bought the whole execution thing but it is the law in California and the man was killed by lethal injection because it never admitted any wrong or showed remorse. One would think that if he were convicted wrongly that lawyers would have been lined up to defend him in appeal. It was nice that he did some good before being killed by the state for his horrible crimes.

I am not sure why there would be riots.

Stanley "Tookie" Williams was the co-founder of the Crips gang. He murdered 4 people in 1979 and was sentenced to death. It took us 24 years, but we finally put the worthless piece of shit out of our misery.

And just so it's 100% clear..it's not the gang affiliation that I feel earned him a trip on the nedle highway. The man killed 4 people...gunned one man down in the back after he pled for his life. He would later brag about how the man sounded when the bullets hit...and laugh about it.

He never once showed remorse or apologized for his crime. Up until the minute they plunged the juice into his arm, he claimed innocence (don't they all?). Had he admitted his crime and showed remosre for it, more than likely Arnold would have granted clemancy.

Thre was a big fear that the African American population would riot much like they did after the Rodney King trial. It's my belief that Arnold refused to grant clemancy early enough in the day to allow for beefed up security. I know the CHP were called in to pump up security around San Quenton last night just in case.

But, in his favor...Tookie spoke out against the violence saying it would do no good.

I'll give him half a point for that one.

I shudder to think how many innocent people died due to gang violence over the last 20 years. And the Crips and the Bloods played major rolls in alot of them. They are the basis of what most gangs derived from.

I mean, the guy is the FOUNDER of the Crips, and there were people protesting that "an innocent man has just been killed" (by lethal injection).

Tow -the fact that bothers me more than anything is I lived in N.Long Beach Ca.the Crips & Blood turf Battles made Compton CA.so dangerous Taxi's were un-marked you did not drive in the City at night you didn't walk on the streets in the day-time.

People seem to just give up when gangs take over their nieghborhood. I can understand how they would not want to be targeted but why live in fear? An organized community has a way of driving these people elsewhere before they start their own forms of corruption.

Harry I agree with you but how do you set up a community watch when 2/3 of the people are one gang or the other.At the present their is an estimated 11,000 gang members in the City of Long Beach and that don't even include the Blood & Crip which was more dangerous. Then you have people like the ones trying to protect people like Willams.People like Jessie Jackson and People in Hollywood and many of them don't even need an excuse to yell Racial Profileing.
