He may be a kind man and doing what is right but the way he's doing it hasn't been working too well.
Rumsfeld wanted to do this on the cheap and warriors like you , Cpl, moto and gungy as hell have been held back and muzzled by political PC crap. I truly wish there had been 400K of y'all there to secure the country, munitions, run a provisional government, and to control and kill every goddam pig in enclaves like Fallujah from the getgo. And wrap what's left of them in pigskin.
I admire your attitude and spirit but can you truly say you are being allowed to kick ass? You've got the toughest damn job in the world and there should be more of you doing it. And a Patton or MacArthur or Puller to run the show.

And I am really sorry the MSM from the NY Times to CNN have stabbed our guys in the back and acted as spokespersons for Al Qaeda and our country's enemies. I'd like to see tham all have to squat down and ride the harley 24/7 for what they've done. Mad
Hey, check out youtube sometime. All sorts of pro-Islamofascist propoganda vids, right? If you flag them, nothing happens.

Now try posting one or two vids of our guys smokin' terrorists (several on the net like on military.com) and you will find your account suspended faster than greased owl shite. (I know).

That's where the culture is now.

Thank you for your service. You give me hope for a better America but I'm not holding my breath.

And you shouldent hold your breath. The democrates are going to get us out of this crumy situation that we are in so you can just sit and stew in your hatred and anger while the rest of the world moves on. Its like no one considers how this war is being paid for or how it is affecting the families of the soldiers and the soldiers themselves, the war is total BS and the president is retarded and rumsfeld is a criminal. This presidency seemed to think they could wage a war on the cheap with no draft or no colateral damage, how stupid is that. If you want to do it on the cheap you drop MOABs if you want to join the generational war in the middle east you better draft this entire nations population of young people (that is the ones that dont go to Canada)

He went about it all wrong though. He kept changing reasons while we were fighting, and refused to admit he was wrong. It needed a lot better planning and execution in order to work out better, and not have turned into this disaster we have now.

That is the problem with most democrats they yell personal insults and dont support there arguement with facts.

Not all democrats do that for example common said that we shouldnt be in iraq very respectfully (sorry if your not a democrat common. I am just asuming you are)

nothing which is more important than his own personal safety,

I like to abort babies then eat them with a side of stem cells and the souls of gay people.

Oh, and I hate America.

Maybe it's time we re-named this thread to, say, "Spam thread"?

There is a difference between a just war and a not just war.

For example, the Kosovo War was a just war, because of NATO's involvement. They wanted to intervene for Humanitarian reasons. Since the US is a part of NATO, we went into Kosovo. Now the Balkans have a relatively peaceful state.

The Iraq War was not a just war, because it was not approved by the UN. I know people here will hate the UN. But, just think about it. We help start the UN and one of it's headquarters is in NYC, the other is in Geneva. The Bush Administration also changed the reason for going to war many times. That also shows little or no credibility to the international community for a just war.

The only war that was approved by the UN under international law was the first Gulf War. There was an international coalition to help Kuwait.

Fox,
Great! Good for you, I agree. I hope that, unlike many of our politicians, you thought like this BEFORE the war. I know I did, and I'm in the minority. Unfortunately, we still went to war. Does it really matter if it was just? I mean, yes, if we want to impeach the President or otherwise "make someone pay" it does. But that doesn't seem to be happening. All the politicians want to do is play the blame game to get elected/re-elected. So, it really doesn't matter if this is a just war. We're in it and the argument now is do we keep fighting it?

Fox I agree some what with you yes we were the main force for starting the UN which no longer serves as protection against Rouge Nations. And now inturn protects Rouge Nations against us.I don't blame this adminstration for change of Policy but 9/11 and the USS Cole & all the way back to 1981 the first Reactor built by France in Iraq and as far as the Iraq there was 16 Resolutions set against Iraq we also know from history that Iraq threanted and invaded its neighbors and killed his own people we know that Hussien constantly violated the No Fly Zone as far as our politicans Gunny is right they don't care as long as they get elected as far as I am concerned it is also our fault we let it happen. How do you have a just War

A just war under international law is justified by these two rules.

A. We were attacked, so there it is justified by a retaliation. (The 9/11 attackers were mostly Saudis not Iraqis).

B. Must be approved by the UN. (Pentagon and CIA are clearly showing they had evidence that Iraq did not have WMD's).

We're actually more of rogue state than Iraq. Since we don't follow any rules or sanctions by the international community that we make up.

As for pulling out, I think we should. There is no need to have soldiers in the middle of a Civil War between the Sunnis, Shiites and Kurds. There is no need to risk more casualties of soldiers.

Fox would you realy expect the Russians and French to assist the United States in a Military action against who at the time were benifeting in there very existance. As far as your Rouge comment you sure are thinking about joining the right outfit kinda tells me you will fight only on your own grounds I would say if that is your intentions stay out of the Military.I guess I will let the Military do my thinking about bringing the Troops home not the Media or the Politicans and your oponion that they are in the middle of a Civil War which I know nothing about.

This stuff that I am talking to you about is International Relations. This is the very core of why we have conflicts and peace.

You're telling me not to join the military, because I have my own opinion? I think I would be a fine Officer for that very reason.

Why would you let the military do your thinking for you? Don't you want to have your own opinion on things in Iraq?

Fox, my lad:

no one is saying you can't haveyour own opinions while serving in the Military.. what you can't have is your own ' policy '..

When the C-I-C, the Joint Chiefs, the Generals and allthe officers above you tell you to run up that hill and shoot the enemy..you follow the order.. the only ' opinion' you may offer is 'how' to do it, possilby 'when'..BUT not 'why'...

If you have too many ' whys' on your mind,,then the Military is not for you..

get into politicss, instead, especially if you think you have a better idea of what could/should be done..

Fox - you have your right to your opinion. Why would I not let the Military do my thinking about bringing the Troops home I have not been to Iraq but since 1991 when I saw Hussien waveing that Rifle above his head telling his people that he had won a great victory I knew we would go back. You sound if the Islam Terrorist is a new problem. Also if or when you go in the Military you better read and re-read before you sign on the dotted line (just my opinon)
