We stand on guard for thee..
Well, Obama mania is well and truly here, somehow it bled across the 49th and is infecting a good chunk of Kan Ada.. Today the Great Saviour of the World drops in for a ' private chat' with our latest 'lame white guy to run things', Prime Minister Stephen [ don't call me Steve ] Harper. They sit down in Ottawa for a bit of a chin wag over how shitty things are and how they can pour money into the car bidnizz without flushing it down the drain, how people and goods can flow across the border without screwing up security [ USA just launched drone predators over the prairies to look for drugs 'n terrorists sneakin' in ].. So much for the longest ' undefended border' in the world - crap They'll say some nice things about ' working togehter' and how they had a beer at lunch, etc.. all written before hand by some hacks from both sides... A four hour visit will have cost millions for police, troops and what not, have shut down half the city and is one big PR show to big up both guys on the ' world stage '.. I hate 'reality TV shows ' There I was , at the head of the old 68th... |

O'Drama is doing his little " first this first that " thing. This time next year he'll be commander and dope. Also, wouldn't it be nice if the doof looked at the cameras when he speak's? It's always left right left right. He must have practised that thousands of times in front of a mirror. Either that or he was raised by a metronome.

Since you dislike the man so much why do you bother with the name calling?

What name calling are you speaking of here, mine ( O'Drama ) or Rocketeer ( Oh Bama )? Did my phrase " Commander and Dope upset you and if so why? Bush has been called Adolf Hitler for 8 years, and that's just the tip of all of the insults. I see things as they really are HarryP and I remember all of the insults thrown at Bush and our troops these past years ( the war is lost in Iraq! etc,. ). People make choices which reflect their views which makes me wonder why Obama stayed in a Church that more or less hates America and people of " certain colors ". 20 years and he never heard this crap? PHOOEY! Perhaps you could care less but remember this : " There are thousands of people across this planet who get up every morning actively seeking to destroy the United States " - Newt Gingrich. Here is the link to that speech: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v...&playnext=1&index=83 Obama closed GITMO, get with it. |

Jeezus, how about knocking the name calling off all together?
Commander and Dope makes about as much sense as the Bush=Hitler thing. They're both immature and asinine. |

Does anybody here read what they write? I use a phrase " Commander and Dope " and that is somehow equal to Bush being called Adolf Hitler by the lot of Obama supporters since this very young war was started? The leader in charge of the DNC ( Howard Dean ) is a nutmare too! How do I know? I know because my Cousin who speaks 8 lingos had to escort Howard Dean around Vietnam when he went there for his brothers remains. She took him to lunch and didn't even know who he was! She said he was the most boring person she had ever met! He had no clues about history, nibbled on his food and just more or less looked around with no interest! By the way what comes first, God or Country? Just wondering considering Jesus was misspelled by you. To me he is my LORD, to others just a phrase. p.s. It's you guys that are always uptight about junk. Even when I crack a joke here comes HarryP with the " why you!!!! ". This message has been edited. Last edited by: TYPHOON44, |

Yes. And, as a matter of fact, country comes first, as I'm not a Christian. |

Wrong.
The Constitution is built around God and that dollar bill in your back pocket has a certain lingo that the founders made damn sure was put there. God comes first with 80% of Americans and country and family come next. I am using what YOU and other Gentlemen here signed up and fought for : Freedom. Commander and dope was a joke and I was referring to both Obama and Biden. Commander ( Obama ) and Dope ( Biden ). I'm not a Christian I am a Roman Catholic. God always comes first. |

My family comes first.
Country comes in second. And as God is everywhere, I don't think he minds too much where he is ranked with me. SEMPER FI The Gunny PROUD TO BE AN INFIDEL America is not at war. The Marines are at war, America is at the mall. |

Somebody needs to do some research-- It has often been seen on the Internet that to find God in the Constitution, all one has to do is read it, and see how often the Framers used the words "God," or "Creator," "Jesus," or "Lord." Except for one notable instance, however, none of these words ever appears in the Constitution, neither the original nor in any of the Amendments. The notable exception is found in the Signatory section, where the date is written thusly: "Seventeenth Day of September in the Year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and Eighty seven". The use of the word "Lord" here is not a religious reference, however. This was a common way of expressing the date, in both religious and secular contexts. This lack of any these words does not mean that the Framers were not spiritual people, any more than the use of the word Lord means that they were. What this lack of these words is expositive of is not a love for or disdain for religion, but the feeling that the new government should not involve itself in matters of religion. In fact, the original Constitution bars any religious test to hold any federal office in the United States. http://www.usconstitution.net/constnot.html And the dollar bill? The, uh, "founders" designed that, huh? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/U...ates_one-dollar_bill I'll, uh, just let you read that. And "God" is part of my life, just not Jesus (your Lord as you put it). And last time I checked, Roman Catholics are Christians. I was one at one time, pretty sure it hasn't changed. And most smartasses cracking the Bush=Hitler thing will also tell you "it's just a joke". I still don't see a difference. All I "hear" is you shooting off your mouth with ignorant statements about the U.S. Constitution, the dollar bill, Christianity and telling me that because 80% of Americans put God first, that means I have to put up with your ignorance? You're right, you're free to say whatever the hell you want. And I have the right to tell you you're an idiot. Freedom of Speech, Baby. |

My " toss out " of OBVIOUS misinformation led you exactly where I knew you would go : Link Hunting. More or less what you wrote means nothing because you just looked it up. Wikipedia? By the way who is this GOD of yours who is too powerful to show his face? Does he have a name? Let me guess, he/she is better than a Church which is a billion strong and has done more good than all of the fictional crap you want to toss at it? Who did Bach/Leonardo ( I could go on forever ) work and compose for? What shaped Europe? Why did Henry the VIII break with this Church? Was Martin Luther a Catholic?
The dollar bill is mostly Masonic crap yet there too ( sadly for you ) are the words " In God We Trust ". Let me guess, you'll say that could mean anything blah blah. But what did the FOUNDERS believe in? Islam? You can say they believed in another form of Christianity ( Christianity is just a broad word for the many versions of those who split with the Catholic Church yet still believe in Christ ). I said I was Catholic because I am, just as Luthoran's are what they are. We all belive in Christ and you are completely wrong with your summation that you had to look up. I am a CATHOLIC in the CHRISTIAN world. There is difference, look it up. Bottom line, all roads of Christianity lead back to ROME. And now for the BOTTOM LINE : With a history spanning almost two thousand years, the Catholic Church is one of the world's oldest institutions, and has played a prominent role in the history of Western civilization since at least the 4th century. Need I say more? p.s. Notice I didn't call you an idiot? You wrote " enough of the name calling ", and a few threads later you call me an idiot. Now that is idiotic. |

Hmmmm, looks like we'll have to ask Admin to start a new discussion room titled Religion.
We all know that religion and politics don't or aren't supposed to mix, yet here we are in the Politics room doing just that..... along with the typical name calling that comes about when folks don't agree.(especially in a religious discussion if thats what this really is) Name callin....Yep thats a good way to make your points. Reminds me of back on the friggin playground. Its too bad we can't all be sitting at the bar when this happens. Sure would be more interesting than all this keyboard rage I can tell you that. Speaking for myself, God has never appeared to me, spoken to me or made himself known to me. Reckon he's got more than enough on his plate. Regardless of that, God exists for me and I take some comfort in that. So I'm fine with this and according to everyones religion if God appears or speaks, makes himself known to one, you can pretty much rest assured that you are likely gonna be taking a dirt nap when that occurs, so I can most certainly wait to be seeing him if ya'll don't mind. (at least my Dress Blues are ready to go, even if I'm not) Look guy's I know we all rub each other the wrong way in here sometimes, and when that happens, recognize it for what it is and why we are in here in the first place. Now get back to posting links, news articles and opinions to things that are funny, cool, distracting, downright stupid things people do, cuz I still have yet to find the end of the internet. EITHER THAT OR SOMEONE OWES ME SEVERAL ROUNDS AT THE BUSH AND DIRT. (Sage and Sand) SEMPER FI The Gunny PROUD TO BE AN INFIDEL America is not at war. The Marines are at war, America is at the mall. |

Oh Hell I'm just tossing up an argument to drive patoloco nuts. He can call me an idiot if he wants too, I'm not offended. God has never appeared to you? Maybe he has. I never see the Ocean unless I drive to San Diego. It never comes to me. Once there it never speaks but it exsist's none the less. Let's all cheer up. |

I would have gotten on to you if you had called President Bush a name just as fast as ever -- don't blame me for what other people say or think.
I just think is as a lack of manners to call the President names. Be yourself, see if I care. "It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it" DOUGLAS MacARTHUR, 1952 |

Awwwwwwe, shucks Typhoon. You don't have me anywhere near where you want me. I offer up links to back up what I say and I don't have to look them up, I've had this conversation before.
And I never said my God is better than yours, don't know why you make that case. Whatever. But here's the best part. Wait for it. The name calling? It was JUST A JOKE! Yeah! Just like "Commander and Dope", man, don't know why you got all bent out of shape over JUST A JOKE? Man, was that an easy set up. Thanks. |

I understand that, but Obama has insulted George Bush more than CNN and the Clinton's combined. My problem with him is his perpetual scolding of all of us as if he was a King. |
