to say.. Happy Easter to any and all of the Christian faith who might be lurking on the board instead of at church....
and a Sacred Solstice to the Pagans among you who are chasing through the fields and woods skyclad in search of that elusive bunny hauling his basket of fertility symbols - the chocolate, calorie-laden, mega carb fattening, but oh so good, eggs... Off to spend some quality time with the family, and welcome back my son who was off soldiering in a foreign country [ Fort Knox, Kentucky ].. later, dudes!!! There I was , at the head of the old 68th... |

One or possibly two in the Revolutionary war, one in the War of 1812, up to five in the Civil War, one in WWI, and several in WWII.
Also, having spent a year at Fort Knox, I understand the comment even from the far north. "It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it" DOUGLAS MacARTHUR, 1952 |

Rocketeer, you should try training there. We marched up and down those damned hills carrying our M-14 and simple pack and in the snow and ice. I can still remember the fun and the coal smoke.
Quite the military family you have and how proud you must be of your children. "It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it" DOUGLAS MacARTHUR, 1952 |

Fort Knox at any time of the year has its good/bad points...very interesting site...never got to see the gold, but did get lots of souvenir mud back in the day... Yeah, the family has done its bit...fast rising and dedicated bunch.. still fun to watch them have to salute their mum...[ and each other ]... There I was , at the head of the old 68th... |
