When indecent exposure just isn't enough: North Carolina law seeks to clarify the state of women's nipples

It was a topless protest hosted in a park last summer that apparently prompted North Carolina legislator Rayne Brown to introduce a bill defining women's nipples as indecent, reports WRAL. An indecent exposure law is already in place, but because it doesn't specifically define private parts, there's some confusion going on. Brown's law would define "the nipple, or any portion of the areola, of the human female breast" as a private part. There is an exception for breastfeeding. Some legislators were concerned about whether people wearing "questionable fashions" could be affected, to which a male representative said: "You know what they say — duct tape fixes everything."
