Got a gun in my holster
got a horse between my knees
and I'm goin' to Arizona.

Next month I'm finally shaking off the rain and the snow and the blue state crap and moving to my new spread in Tucson. The United State of Arizona. No more CC permits for me. I found the perfect house and pool (had to have that even if the summer heat's below the boiling point) and 3 car garage--one hell of a lot cheaper than in red tape bs Washington. Not sure if the gunny is still in Yuma but I'm looking forward to being in that vicinity. Not thrilled about the state income tax but it's worth it. Big Grin

I'm right outside Tucson myself, but contemplating a move to the even more tax riddled VA this Spring.

patoloco we do a show up there ( Reston Town Center — Reston, Virginia ), and I hate coming back to the border. Might pay more taxes, but it's well worth it. Wink

Well, accepted the job. However....long, complicated story, but I either move to Virginia Beach this Spring.....or I stay in AZ for at least one year.

With me, I have to check out demographics or I am just tossing money in the air.

Virginia Beach was one of the places I became a tourist during my stay at Fort Eustis in Newport News back in 1970. It must have changed by now.

I scoped out the crime stats as well in Tucson, Oro Valley, Marana, etc. I chose in 85715, NE Tucson, very good neighborhood (Seneca Terrace development) with a small HOA and affordable. Plus a security system from ADP and my other security team Misters Glock, Ruger, Beretta and Remington (870).
There are definitely areas down there to avoid, though. sniper

And after Jan Brewer told off Obama, I want to be down there more than ever.

When I go to Tucson, I hang out in the Oro Valley area and NE Tucson. Nice area. Same area where Giffords was shot, oddly enough. Very safe otherwise.

I was stationed in Va Beach for five years. Know the area well. Will probably look for a place in Chesapeake. I really liked it down there.

Plus you get 4 seasons and if you eat outside at a restaurant, chances are good you won't be sprayed from above by a " misty fake-out plant ".

I looked at a couple places up in Oro Vly. Nice. A little farther out than I wanted.
Restaurants? I like the bar Hog Pit BBQ, great ribs. Been there once, plan to go back after I move.

PT's justification for leaving Washington State!

Come on down!

SEMPER FI
The Gunny

Dear Lord
So far today, God, I've done alright
I haven't gossiped
I haven't lost my temper
I haven't been greedy, grumpy, nasty, selfish, or even over-indulgent.
I'm really glad about that.

But in the next few minutes, God,
I'm going to get out of bed,
AND from then on, I'm probably going to need a lot of your help.

AMEN.....

that's all it takes, gunny. And that old 107 yo building could have done a lot better.

But I was fed up with Western WA long before that. Lots of different climate for hiking, fishing etc. But jeez, who can take a place that whines about not having enuff of my money then builds an outhouse--open 2 days a week and costing 4.2 million.

Not wild about AZ state income tax but the gas tax up here is highest in the nation and they tax you every time you spit.

Not sayin' I like Sheriff Dupnik. What a pos he is. But Arpaio more than compensates.

Hey Japhet if "here" is around Seattle, help me move, heheh.
