Man on Fire, with Denzel Washington, didn't intrigue me enough to see the movie at the theater. I'm not sure it intrigued that many other people either. However, now that the movie is out on DVD people will see what a great movie it is. This is a solid movie with great vistas of Mexico city, a good setup, and a great third act that contains a lot of bedlam from a former spec ops guy (Force Recon) and CIA agent. In some ways, the movie is like Gladiator, where a sole doomed hero singlehandedly takes on the bad guys. Even the ominous music is reminiscent of Gladiator, as well as the mortal wound. If you've been to Mexico City you will appreciate the cinematography. But you'll also want to close the borders.

I am glad to see that you liked it. At the beginning of your post, I was assuming that you didn't like it and was shocked. I thought it was a great movie.

I rented it last week. His faultering morals and lifestyle were definately regained due to this little girls heart... He gave all for her.

Had to watch it twice to catch everything.

Scary thing is...that kind of crap is really going on down there. I just read something about it the other day and the police are part of it. Sounds like someone visited Mexico and nailed a movie down with true life atrocities.

come to miami.you will see more coruption with not only cops,but our mayors,commisioners,and chief of police.most of them are in jail right now,and one is on the run in australia.
the movie is pretty much true to life.
