Billy, I used to buy a stinkbait called "catfish charlie" in the store in Ashland. Looked like peanut butter, smelled like shit, caught fish though. Hey, you guys, when my boy gets back from the sandbox, we will have some time to fish and will be looking for good spots, If any of you would let me know, maybe we can get a trip together, either up here or in you neck of the woods, have boats and gear but no camper, so have to stay in motels.

SparkyI will try this again Clearwater Lake down below the dam is where I caught the big Flathead Cats but you have to make sure you have a Waterjet on your Jon Boat because the Locals Tree line fish and don't tend them.I was about 30 miles SW at Van Buren. My Mom & Dad were born and raised in the radious of 50 miles from where you live my Dad was raised at Owl's Bend straight West & my Mom was raised on Logan Creek about 10 miles NW of Ellington.

You can't beat the Shrimping at Haulover Canal. Mosquito Lagoon is probably my favorite. I do piddle around in the St. Johns quite bit also.

Sounds Just like Bee-Jays, dang smell would stay on your hands for a couple days.

Directions stay to keep it firm to all flour or meal, we figured out if we kept it cold that worked better, used a treble hook for it and could really sling it out there if needed, comes in a glass jar

Dang, I have a prop on my boat and it would cost too much to change it over, sigh. Guess I'll just have to buddy up to one of the locals and get them to take me out! (The guy I bought my house from works at the local boatshop and has a nice johnboat Wink)
I have never hooked a big cat, I think about a 5-pound flathead was the biggest I ever caught.

Snipes! Heaven won't have us and Hell's afraid we'll take over!

If you are going to stay there you will need a jet I only had a 25 hp most people use 40's those Rivers are pretty shallow over on the Current River you have to crank your boat wide open to get over those shoals.Clearwater is deep but I was there two years and never went out I never saw anybody bring in any fish.
