Sir Arthur C. Clarke, the science fiction writer, has died aged 90 in his adopted home of Sri Lanka, it was confirmed tonight.
Clarke, who had battled debilitating post-polio syndrome since the 1960s and sometimes used a wheelchair, died at 1:30am after suffering breathing problems, his personal secretary Rohan De Silva said. “Sir Arthur passed away a short while ago at the Apollo Hospital [in Colombo]. He had a cardio-respiratory attack,” he said. http://entertainment.timesonline.co.uk/tol/arts_and_ent...s/article3579120.ece |

He was almost unpublished when he wrote about satellites being used for communication back after WW2 because it was so unbelievable to everyone. Geo-synchronous orbit is also called a Clarke Orbit.
I liked his books too. "It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it" DOUGLAS MacARTHUR, 1952 |

He also had a few TV shows here and there. They were very interesting. He seemed to be a good spirit.
