I can't eat any of that organ crap. I have gout, and organs are full of purines. But I heard that fresh meat in stores is mixed with fresh lung tissue to keep it red.

yeah, would not be good for your gout. Last I heard major stores use dye, although if you go to a smaller store or a butcher they probably still mix it with lung tissue..

Yeah, but when it's been in the fridge a couple days it turns gray. That sounds like oxygenation to me.

To me, some of the worse stuff you could ever eat is chit'lins or chitterlings if you wanna be PC. I know this is something most of you White folks have never tried and believe me, you ain't missed nothing.
Don't like the way they look, definitely don't like the way they smell, don't like they way they taste, don't like the way they feel in my mouth and don't like what they are. There is no way to cook these suckers to make 'em better either. |
