Now don't all go crying in your beer or throwing wild parties in celebration [ depending on your inclinations ] but, the ol' Rocketeer is being forced to go offline for a bit due to the influence of a higher power.

Seems that, having returned from Afghan training, the Good Padre is in need of some R&R and is determined that I be included. I'm being hauled away from my duties and my work station to accompany her on some ' vacation time ' [ whatever that means ] and I've no say in the matter.

Since today is our 35th wedding anniversary, it appears I'm also supposed to take her to a restaurant that doesn't serve burgers and fries and actually have to put on a 'suit' - whatever that is - not my usual T-shirt with the witty sayings/beer logos.

Bottom line is my internet privileges have been 'suspended for 7-10 days..I can feel the withdrawl pains starting already at the thought of it.

I'm off to fill the hip flask with some single malt and put fresh batteries in the pacemaker..

Enjoy the time with the Good Padre. Make sure she has a GREAT time, she certainly deserves it! (especially for putting up with the likes of you for 35+ years!!)
