I'm in the process of getting my private pilot's license and thought about contacting the CAP when I'm fully licensed. How's that work, a private pilot volunteering his time?

Yeah as long as you are willing to help in a few other things you can still fly you don't even need your own plane. you can fly theirs.

Cool. I've put everything on hold until after my new baby gets here but I should be up and flying by September.
We have a lot of CAP posts around here too. Lots of aviation here, old AF bases and Luke is still in operation of course. |

Piper Warrior, 180. I prefer the low wing but I would be happy with either.
Being a mech in the Corps and then for a few years in the civilian ranks, it's something I always planned on but never got around to. My instructor is a former Israeli airborne. And I'm a jarhead married to a nice Jewish girl so we have a lot in common. Makes it fun. |

Got mine awhile ago in a PA-28. I've got some time in a Cessna but don't really like tail-draggers. Flying is some of the most fun you'll ever have with your pants on.
