I know I haven't been about the site much lately [ thanx, Harry for waking me up ] but I found that I had to take a break from reality to make some money..shame, really..

but...anyway, I've tossed off a couple of quickie magazine articles and gave a ' talk' that brought in some quick cash and this prompted the Good Padre to suggest I use the ' extra funds' to accompany her on her latest 'adventure'..

So, after getting my security clearance updated thanks to some pimply faced junior NCO with a rubber stamp, I'm good to go and am leaving the safe comforts of the Laz-E-boy for parts east -
[ actually not a bad thing given that it is -28C out the back porch and even the pooch doesn't stay out too long in doing his ' duty' on the shrubs ]..

Heading with the missus to Israel, a quick jaunt to the Golan Heights and a brief side trip into the West Bank, though I miss out on a day or two in Jordanian territory and have to stay by the hotel pool...I expect I can tough it out...

Sadly [ or gladly ] you'll have to forego the pleasures of my concert pianist-like tinkling of the keyboard for a fortnight [as they say in proper English ]..

God willin' and good piloting, I shall return on or about the 16th of the month of March [ a day late to toast the Ides of March and the death of Caesar in proper fashion - have to make do with the shampoo samples of booze they ' serve' with the in-flight movies - which, most likely won't be Snakes on a Plane ].
