Seems you fellows have been celebrating Thanksgiving all wrong..
Back when the Pilgrims came to Massachusetts there were no turkeys in the area.. the Pilgrims most likely ate venison or beaver or raccoon...nd Pilgrims didn't celebrate thanksgiving by eating anyway.. they fasted..so no food.. And, if truth be told the only reason they landed where they did at Plymouth [ they had been granted land further south as a colony ] was because their ship was running low on beer. [ the only potable liquid on board ]..So.. never mind stuffing your faces with turkey and pumpkin pie.. the only true way to celebrate Thanksgiving is to drink copious amounts of beer in memory of the pilgrims... There I was , at the head of the old 68th... |
