Right now I am collecting the works of an author by the name of Henry Redden. His latest book " The Liver " is about the plight of a liver that does not want to be implanted withing a sick person with a liver problem. Page after page of sheer excitment! I loved chapter 45 when he built a bunker within the Hospital out of Igloo Freezer boxes! Or chapter 234 when he defeated a whole S.W.A.T. team by pretending to be a human heart! They fell for it and it gave him more time to plan out his crazed fight! Chapter 466 was really tearful when another Liver told him that he can only exist within a human. Finally the jig was up. Anhow it was hell of a creepish nutball ride of a book. I felt so sorry for the little fella that I promissed my liver that I never would eat crappy food as much.

'The Time it never rained' by Elmer Kelton.
Anything by Kelton is great...especially his 'The Wolf and the Buffalo' and 'Slaughter'. http://www.elmerkelton.net/ I also reread Edward Abbey's 'Desert Solitaire'. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Desert_Solitaire Hafa Adai! |
