Festive Seasonal Greetings to All and Sundry at this time of Consumer Frenzy...

May the spirit of crass consumerism take hold of you and your wallets as you endeavour to rebalance the economy through profligate purchasing..

I am trusting that the corpulent symbol of buying, the red-suited personage himself, brings to you and yours the necessities of life at this solstice..May you all be blessed with 103" Wall-mounted HD Flat Screen TV's and may your families enjoy the bounties of the market at equitable and competitive prices.. May your bellies be distended with turkey [ or vegetative/chemical equivilents ] and may your cups runneth over with imbibation appropriate to the occasion.

I will be be partaking of the warmth of the hearth and the scrabble and shrieks of delighted rugrats as they revel in the opulence of the rip and tear frenzy in their search for the latest ' must have' item which the TV has brainwashed them into ' needing ' [ I can only trust that the ' gawds' are kind and the batteries exhaust themselves before the Boxing Day sales.]..

Grandpa will regale them of tales of yesteryear wherein he sallied forth into the jaws of mythical blizzards striding forcefully uphill ten miles each way to school and back, without fear of strangers and other corrupting influences [ well, perhaps an occasional smoke and beer behind the fence/hedge near the railroad tracks ]

I'll second that! Hope everyone here (with exception of our resident turd) has a very merry christmas and a very safe and sane new years! I'll be back sometime during fist week of the new year. Oughta be recovered somewhat by then!
