quote: Speaking of that, when my son-in-law who is in the air force and changed jobs to flight engineer and they were sending him up to Ft Lewis some survival/cold weather training and they were only getting a couple MRE's and a rabbit, he told my daughter I wish I would have hung around your Dad more. He had no idea how to kill it LMAO. but he done good. He is also in the box, and should be home soon. They do a stand down for a couple months then up flying missions again D.I.L.L.I.G.A.F. Sully, Yes, I live in Minnesota. My wife's Aunt & Uncle live in Aztec. He's an eye Dr. there. He had a practice in Belen, NM, but sold it to my wife's brother. I'd love to do some hunting down there, but it's a tough job for me. I might be able to hunt from horseback. It's been a LONG while since I've been saddle-sore!!!

Scully the son in law just never grew up around hunting or fishing, his dad retired from the army a year before me, he's a New York boy, my daught has been trying to teach him how to fish.
While they were stationed at Tyndall my daughter got to do some shark fishing but he wasn't having anything to do with it, she told him come on tuff guy its just a fish D.I.L.L.I.G.A.F. LLR GBNF |

Don't want to brag, but the biggest bucks in the country for two of the last 3 years have come from our county in Mich. And if you count the Rompola buck, and hole-in-the-horn buck, Mich and northern Ohio have the best whitetail hunting anywhere.

Thor Sorry I missed your post the reason I ask you about Minnesota was I have an old Shipmate who lives in Barrett and wants me to come and go hunting and fishing with him. He wants me to come up and Ice fish but it gets cold enough down here I probley could not handle it up there.

Yeah, I did a mapquest search. It looks like it's about a couple of hours away from me. I live near St Cloud, MN.Most ice fishing is done from some sort of shelter with heat inside. Only the hardcore people go and drill a hole and sit out there and fish. Of course, today was awesome, 45°F and sunny !! Cold is moving back in, though
