Japan might send navy to counter anti-whaling plan

CANBERRA (Pacnews) — A defense expert says Japan could send its navy to the Southern Ocean to shadow Australia’s Navy if the Australian government decides to use its defense force to monitor Japanese whaling.

The Australian government is to announce within days how it will carry out its plans to check on Japan’s whaling fleet.

The government has not ruled out using the Australian Navy, but it is expected that it will mainly use the civilian-crewed customs ship, the Oceanic Viking.

It is armed with two machine guns and has a boarding party of specialist customs officers.

Great Gordon tune.

I drove up to that big old lake last year just to taste the water ( My family wonders why I do that....who knows ). Taste like the sea and looked like it. I think I like the sunsets over water.

As for Japan, they have a pretty good force. You can get some good clear stuff on this site. You may have to activate divX but who does'nt? Anyhow great firepower.

By the shores of Gitche Gumee,
By the shining Big-Sea-Water,
Stood the wigwam of Nokomis,
Daughter of the Moon, Nokomis.
Dark behind it rose the forest,
Rose the black and gloomy pine-trees,
Rose the firs with cones upon them;
Bright before it beat the water,
Beat the clear and sunny water,
Beat the shining Big-Sea-Water.

I always liked Longfellow's
'The Song of Hiawatha'

(It was that Minnehaha thang)

Check out this guy Jake Shimabukuro...

It is one cold lake! It does, though, have a beautiful shore line in many places.

I can imagine the effects of a dip in Gitche Gumee...

That's probably why Minnehaha was laughing
at Hiawatha...

Cool
