Just heard a rumour that Jerry Bruckheimer [ he of the atrocious Pearl Harbour/Ben Affleck movie bomb ] is ' developing' with Walt Disney Studios a new version of - wait for it - The Lone Ranger! ..

not sure if this is a good move or not..

apparently the guys who wrote Pirates/Caribbean and the Antonio Banderas' Zorro [ with Catherine Zeta Jones in fine form ] are working on resurrecting the ' concept '[ whatever that means ]...

Have fond memories of the original TV show with Jay Silverheels as Tonto and Clayton Moore as the Masked Man hisself..

Think just about everyone wants to forget the disaster from years back with ' acclaimed superstar ' Clinton Spilsbury as Hiho himself [ so bad an actor they had to have Stacey Keach dub his voice ] or, worse, the direct-to-TV flick WB put out in 2003 with a bunch of teen heartthrobs no one ever heard of..Not even Wes Studi as the wise and benevolent Native Shaman teaching young Lone how to be a mensch in the wild west could save the flick.. thankfully it hasn't been released as a DVD and has been well and truly buried in some landfill [one can only hope ]..

Anyway..my childhood memories hopefully will be assuaged and Jerry won't revert to type with stuff ' blowing up real good' al a Transformers to make his point...

[Cue Rossini's William Tell Overture and toss me a few Silver Bullets - that's Coors to you Boors - see TomFart I can rhyme, too ]...

Hi Ho Silver, Awaaaay!!! [ that doesn't sound too faggy in this day and age does it? ]

Havta to remember, they've had a writers strike down here. That's why we are seeing all these movies made up from comic book super hero's and villians. Ain't an original thought to be had down in La-La land.

I'm surprised they haven't resurrected the Three Stooge's, or made yet another movie about Popeye.

This link may be one of the most important to keep. They actually absorb all that is or was. Kind of like a black hole. Type in some old site you thought got zapped-off the web 5 years or so ago. They have it, not to mention a ton of movies and docs etc,.

Also, look over to the left of that page Rocketeer. You can download any size of most episodes.

Thanks for the link, Typhoon.. my kinetoscopes of the Lone Ranger and the Cisco Kid and Pancho are wearing a bit thin these days.

anyone remember the totally crappy ' update' of the Cisco Kid starring the dude from NYPD and ' CANE ' that recently failed TV series? Nope.. didn't think so...

Gunny: I hear hyou.. we've got to get past the next batch of ' toons' coming our way in the hopes of seeing some intelligent film

cue: revisionist Batman, another Hulk, Transformers Redux, already announced is Wolverine , Justice League, Thor, Captain America, and for ' international flavour ' a live-action version of Tintin [ for the legion of Francophiles out there ]..still Jessica Biel donning the WonderWoman thong won't be dismissed lightly by this film goer [ not to be disrespectful of Linda Carter's definitive portrayal ]...
