Hello...
I know AR 670-1 prohibits the wearing of earrings for males in uniform or out of uniform but still on duty and etc.... But what about getting your ears pierced OFF post OFF duty? Is there any regulations? |

Huh? What?
You want to get a hole in your ear? And how will that be of benefit? If you're serving, most of the time you'll be in uniform and banned from piercings so that you will have to remove rings, pins, studs or other sh*t stuck in you.. the longer you have the holes' exposed' the more likely they'll just close up again and you'll have trouble getting the rings, etc. back in for the limited times when you might actually get to swan about with the ' hint of bling' jutting, dangling from your ear [ it IS your ear you want to have drilled, right? ].. unless you're in the Navy and are hoping to give off the aura of ' pirate ', ' manly ear stud' is an oxymoron and someone, sometime in a bar - discussion - will latch on to it and yank with predictable results...the rest of the time you'll have to leave it out or walk about with a bandaid stuck over it to satisfy regs and the Sgt.'s evil eye [ if that's even allowed ].. stupid idea.. save it to when you're discharged and ' finding yourself' after re-integrating into 'civvie street '.. [ grumble, mumble.. kids, bah!...back in my day...piercings?.. what's wrong with a nice garish and indecent tattoo, or is that only for females these days? ] Nurse!.. more beer, the drip bag's getting low... There I was , at the head of the old 68th... |

Hmmmm,
Body piercing. When on any Army installation or other places under Army control, soldiers may not attach, affix, or display objects, articles, jewelry, or ornamentation to or through the skin while they are in uniform, in civilian clothes on duty, or in civilian clothes off duty (this includes earrings for male soldiers). This is taken directly from the regulation AR-670-1 page 9 chapter 1-14. As a Marine Corps Gunny, I had a really nice collection of earrings along with earlobes still attacthed to them, so go ahead and get yer ears pierced as I sure wouldn't want to deprive a fellow NCO the opportunity to start his own earring and earlobe collection. Reckon it's a good thing you weren't asking about tittie rings? This message has been edited. Men who wear earrings are not men and should be burnt at the stake.

I'm not against men wearing earrings and body piercing and such, I am against Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines disobeying regulations and then blaming the NCO's, SNCO's, and Officers when they get nailed for it.
