Hello all. I served Active Duty Air Force for my years and when they were done I left active duty and entered the ACTIVE Reserves as a traditional reservist so that I would still be active in the military. I now would like to rejoin and go back on Active Duty Status but seem to be getting the run around from many people (which the air force is great at doing). Does anyone know how to perform this or have any advice on what the steps to take are? If so it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

The only way I know of is through a Recruiter. And (Recruiters can correct me if I'm wrong), but they don't get credit for "guys like you". I also was an Active Reservist who chose to come on active duty and was basically ignored by my local recruiter. He was "too busy" to deal with a "re-tread". I went to the next town and found one who was willing to work with me and get me back in.

depending on your service, you might not be able to back to active duty..Army is accepting all prior service's, if you meet the requirments, 30 days of warrior school...might also be able to keep your rank...

You dont want to go active army if you are accustomed to the air force. Army is accepting for a reason and the air force is laying off for a reason. Army has an exponentially lower quality of life.

Related topic-- Met a Marine in the IRR who is 70% disabled, but assures me he can pass a PFT. Wants to come back in, but recruiters won't touch him. Anyway for him to get back in? He's willing to give up disability payments.
