1st Brigade Combat Team Special Troops Battalion to be more exact..

I told my assignment manager that I wanted to leave my current unit ASAP after I was screwed out of another deployment. She quickly responded with a 10 OCT report date. I am very aware that Killeen blows ass, but I asked for Hood because it's very close to home.

My Assignment Satisfaction Key shows that my report date is 10 OCT.. How soon before then will I get a hard copy of my orders? I am under the impression that I can start outprocessing as soon as I have them, and that I should be able to report up to a month earlier.

Does anyone know when the 1st BCT is deploying again? I think they came back in February, but I don't know when the next one is because of the whole extension thing.

I'm intel. Does anyone know what I'll be doing for the 1CD? I'm an NCO and am currently in leadership position, but I doubt that there's much need for my specialty in a line unit yet.

Any info that I can get about the unit (Co-lvl, Bn, BCT, Div., whatever) or installation will be much appreciated. Thanks
