I was recently talking to a recruiter in my old town then decided to move out of state and attempt to join the Air Force from my new location. Do recruiters retain any paperwork or do I have to redo anything I left behind?
Thanks in advance! |

Depends on how far along in the process you were and whether you were entered into "the system". Only one way to find out, go to the new recruiter and ask.

I don't think I was very far along in the process at all. What kind of information is usually entered into "the system"?

You will most likley start over. REdo is easy there is not that much. Unless of coarse you left your Social, birth cert, and any other important doc's at your old recruiter. They will make you fill out new background app then they will want you to take a practice ASVAB.Then the real ASVAB. Unless you have taken the actual test with in the last two years? Then if you past, those test results will be good for inlistment anywhere. If you have collage they will want transcripts, or high school transcripts, but they will usalley take care of that for you. Then they will do a background check to see if you are good to inlist . Then the packet starts, and you are on your way to MEPS if you meet the phisical requirments. These things may not be in exact order. Hope it helps, good luck.

Snarg, it kind of works like this: When you just go to a recruiter to BS, no records are kept that end up in a computer at the USAF. But when you make specific requests that end up costing money to the USAF (tests, physicals, special requests etc.), your stuff is going to be stored. So when you move and go to another state your stuff can be extracted by the other recruiter by simply clicking on your name.

Thanks for all the helpful replies. I went ahead and redid the paperwork. Now I'm just waiting for other stuff to go through.
