NOOB here, not sure if i put this in the right place, but i am 19 and im planning on joining the NY national guard and one of the local jobs is a cable technician. What would i be doing in iraq or afghanistan being a cable technician? does anyone have experience with this job?
Thanks Brian |

They would assign you whatever job they needed you to perform. It could be gate guard, convoy escort, mess duty, patrol duty, or 'gasp'!! it could even be cable installer.

What do you think they mean? Patrol duty is walking a patrol looking for them before they find you. Convoy escort is riding on a vehicle protecting equipment, supplies and people.
