Has anyone ever heard of someone with a disability rating re-enlisting. I really want to get back in but not sure if it is possible. The recruiter that I am talking to seems to thing it may be, but he is doing more research to find a more definitive answer.

Thanks for any feedback,

J

I'd suppose it would depend upon the MOS and 'RE' codes...but I've seen some of those fancy peg-legs still in Uniform.

Might get some info here:

Thank you for your help, RE-3P is the only one that would probably effect me but it really doesnt have any reference to a VA disability rating. I guess that could be good news as far as getting back in.

Thanks again,

J

I talked to someone from the Army Website (live chat) last night and I was told that one can re-enlist with a disability of up to 30%, i ask if their was any possibility of a higher percentage with a waiver and they had never heard of any cases.

The term re-enlist only applies to active duty folks. If you have been discharged, then you must look at your DD-214 for your code that was assigned upon your discharge. If you are planning on re-joining the military, and you are on disability, you will forfeit your disability. Can't have it both ways son.

Im not concerned about the disability pay if it means I can get back in the field. I heard of alot of people getting back in with 30%, but that is the highest dis. rating I have heard of. I wonder if the dis. rating matters as long as you sign it off. My reentry code is RE1A so I should be fine as far as that goes.

Thanks,

J
