Are we allowed to bring pets with us when we live on base? Or is that only off-base allowed? Plus if we live on base, are we allowed to have a roommate? Like our choice or would I have to live off base for that? How long is the wait until I'm allowed to live off base? What are the qualifications? Thanks to anyone who replies.

I'm sorry.. I just can't resist...
What kind of pet? a cute, cuddly little puddytat? a Rottwieler? Gerbils in a cage with a little wheel?..The Military ain't no place for freakin' bunnies..gro up.. leavethe mice at home with granny..sheesh.. Now, as to the roomie...are we talking 'bout a ScarlettJ ohanson/Angelina Joile lookalike here?.. Then I think the rest of the boys in the platoon might have a bit of a say over that...and the Sgt. may be doing a ' room inspection ' while you're out scrubbing latrines...and, if the roomie is there to help fluff pillows and put up chintz curtains..well.. nuff said... You'll have enough problems adjustingto the lousy food, lack of sleep, constant orders, early mornings, late nights, marching to nowhere to ever be concerned about your petting zoo or petting partner.. which branch of the service, by the way?.. If its the Air Force then forget everything I said..you'll get 5 star accomodation, limo service to and from the mess hall and only have to work afternoons after the sanua sessions...so pets and pillow partners are no problem... ...Wow, someone's on their high horse. Well I got news for you... IT'S TIME TO GET OFF. First off, it was a simple question, that's it. Second off "gro up"? You make me sick...Get some literacy under your belt. I'm surpised they let you in. Thirdly, learn a little respect for other people, a simple question and I get a smart *** with a "You're so stupid" answer. Well guess what, if you think I don't have respect for you you're right because it's clear you have no respect for others and thier questions. I can't wait for the day when you have a question and someone gives you a remark like that, wait to see how you feel buddy.
However, I did read your first statment, and it has no meaning, if you think it's a wrong thing to say then don't say it, you completely kill the point when you say you're sorry and then further the remark. Secondly, I'm not wining and you didn't make me get teary eyed and if you were going for the "Make you feel like crap and idiot" area, it didn't work. It back fired because it my eyes you look like the idiot here. I don't care how much you know, or how smart you are. Right now you are as stupid as a dog licking peanut butter off the roof of it's mouth. You say I need to grow up? Why don't you? Because as far as I'm concerned, I'm the grown up one here. |

Military Bound I also can't resist I can tell if you are only 17 with your quick offensive mouth you won't never get your foot inside a boot camp and if you do someone with good Military intentions will make you cry the first day.If they don't make you cry they will give you a very fat lip.

OI, Milbound...
READ MY LIPS: KISS MY ASS, PUNK... " I'm sorry " wasn't aimed at you, but the ' regulars ' on this board, as I was alerting them to the fact I was going to take the first shot [ hence.. " I can't resist " ] You made yourself a tempting target.. Your post was as green as green a fresh recruit could ever stick out.. It was like waving a red flag in front of a bull.. what did you expect?.. Next time engage brain before mouth... As to your photo..well...the immaturity and life experience that displays as a ' personal advert ' to your suitability as a potential ' hard as nails supoersoldier ' in the Bush Brigades speaks volumes... A moment googling any official military website would have answered your question before you ever getting to this site.. I'm sure pets are listed right under the section that says you have to leave your ' blankie ' and winnie-the-pooh sleeper at home... As for going all potty mouth on me, shrimp.. If you can't take a bit of derogatory verbal abuse and a virtual cuff around the flippin earhole as a wake-up/grow up kid, warning then, boy, son, are you in for a rough ride no matter what branch of the service you expect to get to... Grow some hair on your balls..If it wasn't a nice sunny day where I am I'd be tempted to feed you to Warriorethos and let her tear out your 'nads and knit you a bowtie for cominjg on so stupid... Since you haven't learned ' right foot/straw foot ' yet and how to stand still for more than five minutes, I'll let you off with a warning.. Best To Keep Your Mouth Shut And Let People Think You Stupid, Than To Open It And Erase All Doubt.. Sully: This one is potential Joint Chief material..oh, yeah... Sorry I don't have nads. I'm female and can be a b*tch. I've taken verbal crap all my life don't think I can't handle it.
In the words of Den "Think what you want, doesn't make it true." I will pass boot camp. |

She hasn't presented any real information other than some general questions. I'd just recommend aiming her at a recruiter. He can answer those types of things. As for getting off on the wrong foot, yeah she did. She NEEDS to apologize to Rocketeer, if she really wants to know anything about the military.

aww. Gunny..
Lil Missy Milly don't need to do no apologizin'...she ain't been no trouble.. Hell I've had more grief from snot on my 'tache on a cold day... Miss Milly, don't get me wrong, girly.. I'm all for women in the military..ask the boys here, I just love girls in uniform..live with more than one, actually... and, I'm sure after a few weeks of Basic and some solid PT, that under the right guidence, you might actually clean up nice and look decent in uniform yourself... work hard at it, keep that ' can do ' attitude and , hell, Milly, you might even come up to: www.kathywest.com standards... Just make sure you don't open your yap and spout off some bone question..the military will tell you what you need to know.. if it ain't in a manual or posted in the R.O. then it ain't worth knowing...save the dumbass questions for when you get your first butterbar, than ask the Sgt...that way he'll have to choke on his rage while saying " Sir/Ma'am " and you can have fun watching him try and shake his head in disgust and salute you at the same time. There I was , at the head of the old 68th... |

Yeah, I figured as much.. Sorry for the attitude, it runs in the family and I'm sorry for being a pain. Had a rough day, honestly I'm not always this way and trust me I have NO intention of mouthing off to any recruiter. I'll be there to do my job and do it right and as for the training... I'll be there to learn from it not challenge it. I will apologize and please accept it. I'm sorry for the bull crap question. The "confrontation" is what set me off and my already bad ass mood didn't help me any. I'll learn from this... I don't think I've ever acted like such a N00b in about seven years.. Hah.. Well... There's always room for more..
On a futher note, now that I think about it.. I could have just asked Zach.... Dammit, he's in active duty. So are you guys in active duty? Or is this another stupid question? |

Milly:
I,too, will retract a bit and give you a ' proper' welcome to the board...from you post you've already learned more than rrpearso did and supposedly he finished Basic... as to your ' bone ' question.. There are a 'few' on here who are still active , you'll spot them soon enough; the others [ like myself ] are members of the ' been there/done that ' brigade who have imperfect memories and the souvenir coffee mug to prove it was all real.. actually ask anything you want, at least here you'll just get a lame attempt at flaming if the query appears too dumb, better that than a week of polishing toilets with a toothbrush if you push the D.I.'s wrong button!! Gosh, now I'm all misty eyed from you two finally resolving your issues in such a gentle and kind manner. Okay, so I need to drink more and will start shortly – I have to go and shovel horse manure for my wife’s garden this afternoon and that will get it out of my system and prepare me for some good Canadian bier.

Im surprised some of the regulars on here arnt already drill sergants, seeing as how some of your arguments sound like you were just taken out of a straight jacket and released from a mental institution. Drills just cant wait to jump out of there mind in to the world of crazy, some of you need to take some head case pills. Its a sergants job to "make suggestions" not act like a crazy nut job creating chaos and confusion.
